What a Spectacle | GlassesShop.com

I've always had a love-hate relationship with my glasses. When I was prescribed them at the age of 11 I couldn't wait to get rid of them. My Dad had just had laser eye surgery, and I was certain as soon as I was old enough, I would follow suit. It wasn't until I had contacts when I turned 16 that wearing glasses no longer became a chore and rather an occasional way to accessorise an outfit. However, when you only own one pair, it's not long before you run out of style ideas.

For a long time I've planned to buy some more pairs, hoping that if I had a bit more of a variety, I wouldn't rely on my contact lenses so much. Therefore, I can say with complete honesty, I was over the moon when GlassesShop.com emailed to say they wanted to work together. They kindly offered to send me a pair of their glasses to try.

There is a massive range of glasses online and prescription sunglasses on their site and I wanted to opt for something different from my usual boxy pair. Obviously not actually be able to try glasses on can make it difficult although their website has a 'try on' button on each of their glasses which allows you to upload a picture and you can see what the glasses look like. I decided to go for 'Owensboro Round' glasses in black. I got in touch with my local opticians to receive my prescription and just filled in the boxes on their website. GlassesShop.com offer both clear and prescription lenses for no extra cost. Knowing nothing about lenses, I thought it may be quite complicated to get the prescriptions right.

The glasses took a little while to arrive as they were shipped over seas, however, they were worth the wait. They came in a clear case with the lens cloth and were securely packaged so that glasses could not be damaged. The glasses looked exactly how they did on the website and the frames felt like great quality.

Like all glasses I've have had, it does take me a while to get used to a different frame. I don't know if I am alone in this, but with all new glasses, everything appears distorted for a little while until I get used to them. These were no different but once I was used to them, they quickly became my go-to glasses.

Although I still regularly wear my contacts, I love the option of more glasses and have already been scouring their website for more pairs to buy. The frames I selected were $34.95 (£27.31) and for a great quality product that certainly works, I don't think you can argue.

GlassesShop.com also kindly gave me a discount code 'GSHOT50' which allows you to get 50%, meaning for a pair of glasses like mine, it would only cost a mere £13.66. I genuinely mean it when I say that these glasses are brilliant quality and have completely changed my mind about purchasing glasses online. Now just to find my next pair!
