Boots Vitamin E Moisture Lotion

Despite my skin being naturally oily, my cleanser and the cold winter air had led my skin to become incredibly dry. As I suffer with acne already, my skin getting drier led to even more breakouts, and I started to feel like my current moisturiser just wasn't cutting the mustard anymore. Knowing very little about moisturisers, I was a little hesitant of what to go for. Apart from knowing I wanted it to be for oily skin and preferably have SPF in it, I was completely clueless of what else to look for.

I ended up picking the Boots Vitamin E Moisture Lotion. Sometimes rather than spending large amounts of money on moisturisers that you know nothing about, I prefer to pick up something that simply does the job, and that's exactly what it does.

What's great about this moisturiser is that it's suitable for all skin types and extremely inexpensive. I can't quite remember exactly how much it was but was no more than £5, and for a 100ml bottle, that is well worth the money. Since I've started using this my skin has improved dramatically and doesn't have the greasy feeling that a lot of moisturisers leave behind. Overall I am pleasantly surprised by this little beauty and can see it becoming part of my staple beauty items.

What is your favourite moisturiser?

The Netflix Tag

As a Netflix obsessive, when I saw that Alice had created her very own tag, I thought that it was only appropriate that I answered the questions myself.

1. What are you favourite series' to watch on Netflix?
Prison Break, Gossip Girl, Pretty Liars, Suits and Homeland.

2. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I'm currently in what I like to call 'recovery period' (somewhat dramatic, I'm aware). After finishing watching a TV series (currently Prison Break) I always find a need a bit of time before I move onto the next obsession, although I have got my eye on the Vampire Diaries.

3. If you could have any series, old or new put on Netflix, what would it be?
I'd love to have a look back at some of the shows I loved when I was younger like That's so Raven or Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

4. What is your one peeve about Netflix?
I wish the films were split up a bit better, I sometimes find it difficult to pinpoint what I am looking for.

5. What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?
Wrapped up under my duvet with some sweets and endless hours to spend watching my latest obsession.

6. Recommend one series or film for someone else.
Any of the above, especially Pretty Little Liars or Gossip Girl, but my favourite has to be Prison Break! It's incredible!

Let me know if you do this tag and what you recommend to watch on Netflix!

Catfish and the Bottlemen

On a quest for new music to listen to I have been listening to a lot of different artists in the past few months. One of my favourite bands at the moment has to be Catfish and the Bottlemen. I got quite obsessed with this band during summer but it wasn't till a few weeks ago that I rediscovered my love for them.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are a North Welsh Band who released their debut album 'The Balcony' in September. Their sound is indie inspired and I personally love having it on in the background when I am trying to do work.

I'm not quite sure which song from their album is my favourite as I really love a whole bunch of them. What I like most about this album is the relaxed tone it has, brilliant for all times of day and occasions.

If you haven't heard any of their songs yet I really encourage you to do so, I really think parts of this album will appeal to everyone.

What have you been listening to recently?

8 Reasons I'm Excited For 2015

Graduating from University

I can't quite believe that I am in my final year of University already, it has honestly gone so quickly. I'm determined to find the final push and try my hardest this last term to do the best I can.

Getting a Job

Although I am extremely scared about the prospect of getting a job, I am also very excited. It's daunting going out into the big adult world but it does make me realise how many opportunities are out there.

Going around Europe

Me and one of my best friends are heading off around Europe for 3 weeks this July and I honestly can't wait. I'm so excited to visit so many different countries and experience so many different cultures, plus try all the different foods they have, I'm talking to you Italy.

Going to America and Canada

In September this year I am off to east America and up into Canada with my Mum and Brother. It's something that we have been thinking about for a long time and we finally all have the money so thought, why not? I'm so excited to visit New York as well as all the other places we are heading to.

Being a Bridesmaid at my Cousins wedding

I have never actually be to a wedding before, let alone been a bridesmaid so was thrilled when my cousin asked me to be involved. We have already picked out our dresses for the big day in August and they are honestly so pretty. As for my cousins wedding dress, it's absolutely stunning.

Going on Holiday with my Friends

Me and my University friends have been planning a trip for quite a while now, we aren't sure exactly where we are going to be going but have a few ideas in mind. It will be so nice to spend sometime away from my friends before we all head off back to our hometowns after University.

Turning 21

In less than 3 weeks I am going to be turning 21! I can't quite believe it and swear I still feel about 14 years old. I haven't made any plans yet, but have been told to expect a few surprises.

Going to see S Club 7

Guilty pleasure alert! I have loved S Club 7 since I was really young and when me and my friends heard about there reunion tour we just new we had to see them.

What are you excited for this year?

Maybelline Lash Stiletto

I bought Maybelline Lash Stiletto a few months ago as part of my quest to find the perfect mascara. I've not heard much about this, so was a little unsure what to expect. I, of course forgot to take a picture of the mascara wand, but it was very simple plastic wand. When I saw the wand I was interested as to how something so simple could give great lashes.

The mascara itself was great quality, it stays on all day and you didn't need to spend ages trying to rub it off at the end of the day like I have done with mascaras in the past. The mascara was also great at making my lashes look longer and fuller. One problem I had with the mascara was the amount of curve it added to my lashes. I, unfortunately have those really annoying lashes that stick straight out at a right angle. While the mascara made my lashes feel a lot fuller they lacked the curve that I so desperately needed.

Overall, I feel like the mascara was good value considering the quality and durability, but would be hesitant to buy it again purely because of the angle my lashes naturally stick out at. I feel that for me, I need a mascara with a lot more power to get my lashes to curl more. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.

January Wishlist

With Christmas over and the January blues most certainly setting in, I love looking online for a couple of treats to lift my spirits (any excuse!)

After posting on twitter that I was looking for a dark purple lipstick, the lovely Alice from Anniewritesbeauty recommended Mac Rebel. While I had heard of this shade, I had never actually seen it before. I am so glad that Alice suggested it as it's absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I know that plum shades are suggested for Autumn time, but I just love it too much to leave it till then.

As my Birthday is only 6 weeks away, I have asked my Dad for a Pentax K1000. While I have loved photography for a long time know, I have really started to take an interest in film photography and the whole process that goes along with it. I really love the idea of just taking the camera and shooting without studying each photo for hours before and after.

I saw a link to the JogObe Peel Off Face Mask on Facebook of all places and was a little dubious as to whether or not it would work, but after reading a bunch of reviews about it online, it seems pretty great.

The hair wraps and the gold tattoos just looked pretty cool in my opinion. When I was younger I was obsessed with sporting a hair wrap after a holiday, and they always remind me of summer. I'm pretty sure I am going to buy these as I actually think they look pretty cute.

Surprise, surprise, I've included the Prison Break box set. If you read my post last week, you'll know I got pretty obsessed with the series. I really want to watch it again as there are so many things I missed the first time I watched it.

What items have you been lusting after recently?

TV: Prison Break

I've written posts about my favourite bands before, but surprisingly, I've never written many posts about my favourite TV shows! I watch quite a few TV shows and am always looking for recommendations so be sure to leave them in the comments below.

Todays post however, is going to be about Prison Break, which I am watching as I type. I actually started watching this series about a year ago, but as it was around Christmas and I only got a few episodes in, before it was forgotten about. Last week, with no shows currently on my watch list I decided to give it another go. Little did I know I would be waving 'bye bye' to my life and preparing myself for endless late nights hunched over my laptop screen.

In all honestly, I am quite an obsessive person, if I find something interesting then I tend to think about it a lot. I have been completely consumed by this series for nearly a week now. I've been like this before, specifically with Gossip Girl which I watched last April, but haven't felt this way in a while.

If you have never heard about Prison Break, or you are not sure what it is about, here is an explanation on the series from IMDB:

"Due to a political conspiracy an innocent man is sent to death row and his only hope is his brother who makes it his mission to deliberately get himself sent to the same prison in order to break the both of them out from the inside out."

In complete honestly, based on the description above, it wouldn't be my first choice, but there is so much more to it than that. With it ensemble cast it is most definetly worth a watch.

**Edit- I finished watching this a few days ago and wanted to add a few comments. While the first and second series were my favourite, the ending in my opinion was absolutely brilliant. I think it's better to watch a series like this knowing as little a possible, so I will leave it up to you. Be sure to let me know if you have or are going to give it a watch**

Makeup Haul

A few days ago me and my friends decided to head to town for shopping and a catch up over lunch. I was desperately running low on powder so headed to Boots to pick up a replacement. One of my friends recommend the Maybelline Matte Maker powder so I decided to give it a go. I'm not too knowledgable on face powders but was looking to try something different. Boots were running an offer of 'buy one get one half price', and as the primer I was after was out of stock I decided to pick up the Maybelline Master Drama Khol liner. Again, I have never used this before but after losing my brown liner a few weeks ago I was looking for a new one. I've only swatched this on my hand so far but it looks really pigmented, I can't wait to try it as part of my everyday makeup routine.

Not wanting to back down on getting the primer I was after, I decided to head to Superdrug. They had a brilliant offer on of 2 for £10. When I tracked down the Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser primer for £8, I thought why not pick myself up another treat for only £2 more. I've been thinking of buying a dark purple shade lipstick for a while and when I saw the Maybelline one in the shade 'always plum', I knew that it was exactly what I was after. It's quite a dark shade for me but I absolutely love it and can't wait to start wearing it soon.

My last purchase was the MUA Power Pout stick in the shade 'irreplaceable'. I hadn't heard of these before but they reminded me of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable sticks. The shade is a really soft pink that is absolutely beautiful and will be perfect for everyday.

Have you been treating yourself to any purchases recently?

Wanderlust Tag

Where was your first plane to?
My first plane ride was from Manchester to Greece when I was around 6 years old. I don't remember it much as I was so young.
Where have you travelled to that you would love to visit again?
I would love to go back to America. I visited California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada in 2013 and would happily visit all the places again and there was so much to see.
You’re leaving tomorrow, money is no object, where are you going?
Most likely East Asia, I have wanted to visit Asia for quite some time as I would love to experience the change in lifestyle and culture. One day, I hope I will get there.
Preferred method of travel; planes, trains or car?
I think it really depends where you are heading. If I'm traveling across the country I would rather go in the car with a group of friends or on my own if I am going on the train. Of course, to get to most other countries I really need to catch a plane.

Favourite travel website?
World of Wanderlust. The pictures are absolutely beautiful and makes me desperate to travel.

Where would you travel to just eat the food?
It would have to be Italy, I love pasta, pizza and cheese so I think Italy would honestly be the best place for me. Although I know I would eat way to much.

Is there a place you would never go again?
I don't think there is anywhere that I wouldn't go again. I think you can have completely different experiences every time you visit a place.

Can you recite your passport number from memory if asked?
No, I have only had my passport a couple of years, ask my in 5 years and I may be able to.
Do you prefer the Window, Aisle, or Middle seat?
The window, but only if I am travelling with people who are sitting on the aisle seat. I hate the idea of not being about to get up if I needed to. If I was travelling alone, I would much rather sit on the aisle seat.

How do you pass the time on the air plane?
I tend to read or listen to music. If it is a long flight, I will watch a film or may try to get some sleep. I tend to get quite bored, especially if I am on my way home to rainy 'ole England.

Please let me know if you do this tag!

Black & Blue OOTD

Top- Primark
Skirt- Matalan
Tights- Topshop
Boots- Primark

I feel like I have posted an OOTD in forever. The lighting and space in my University room really limits the amount of outfit posts I can do. While I was home for Christmas I took a few, so will be posting these over the next few weeks.

This is my current go to outfit and have been wearing it as often as I can. It's so simple but I find it quite flattering for my body shape. I am absolutely loving long sleeve t-shirts at the moment, I'm not really sure why, but they are so comfy and perfect for this time of the year. The skirt that I am wearing is from Matalan and had been sitting in my draw for nearly a year before I found something that I felt it went with. I really love the length and material of it, so was glad when I was finally able to dust it off with this top

Roam Jewellery

For Christmas this year, my Mum kindly bought me a necklace and bracelet set. I've never heard of Roam before, but when I looked it up, I realised that it is actually a brand from New Look. During summer particularly, I love layering necklaces on top each other and a collection of ever-growing bracelets seems to appear on my wrist.

I love all the bracelets and necklaces in the sets and know that I will be wearing them very soon. My favourite necklace is the the small round blue circle with the red detail. I just really love how delicate and cute this necklace looks. I love the similar bracelet, but also really like the top bracelet with the purple stones, it looks so simple but beautiful.

In complete honesty I love all the bracelets and necklaces and can't wait to start wearing them soon. There is nothing I love more than adding beautiful jewellery to brighten up an simple outfit.

What I got for Christmas

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and a brilliant New Year.

I know I'm a little late uploading this, but I always find there is so much to post about over Christmas. I was extremely spoilt this year and felt so lucky for everything I received. I hadn't really asked for anything in particular this year so it was really exciting opening my presents when I had no idea what they were going to be.

My mum bought me some Jimmy Choo perfume that I was not expecting and had actually never smelt before, but I honestly love it so much, and can see it as my go to scent from now on. My Mum also bought be a huge book called 'Fashion' about different trends and styles through time. I've only had a quick browse through so far, but am completely fascinated by the different fashion through the time periods and can't wait to have a proper look soon.

My brother bought me a few books that I was desperate to get my hands on, including Gone Girl which I have heard great things about. If you've read it, let me know what you think.

Something that isn't photographed here is the big suitcase my Dad got me for my travels this year. It is the perfect size and exactly what I wanted. After a long trip across London with it, I have been assured that it is more than adequate for me.

I don't want to go into too much detail about all the presents I received as I'm sure I will  talk about a lot of it in individual posts, so look out for those.

Best wishes for 2015 you lovely lot!
