Fresh Starts and New Beginnings...
Every year I set myself some targets for the year rather than resolutions. That way even if it takes me till November to achieve I know that I have all year to aim for. I sometimes find that for me, resolutions can mean that one day you're trying to act like a completely different person to the day before and this can often lead to unrealistic goals.
For the past 3 years, on this very day,  I have made a blog post about my aims for the year, which you can check out here. I really can't believe this is my fourth time doing a post like this! Below are the targets I set myself for the year 2014 and whether I achieved them or not.

Spend more time with family and friends
I've worked really hard this year to make the most of the time that I spend with my family and friends. Being at University tends to means that no matter where I am, I am always missing someone. As long as I am making the effort to spend time with people, I think that is all that matters.

Organise my time efficiently to make the most out of it
I have made a lot of progress with this goal this year but still feel like I need to improve more. I've realised I work incredibly hard about things I am passionate about such as my blog, but when it comes to managing my time amongst a range of things, I still have a little way to go.

Make new friends and spend time getting to know people better
This year I went to my first blog meet up and event. It was so sweet and got talking to a lovely group of girls who I am looking forward to getting to know more soon hopefully. I also feel my friendships with people at my work have improved so much. One of the girls, who I now consider one of my closest friends. This year I have definitely made new friends, but what I've really learnt is, its not how many friends you have but who they are. The friendships I have now mean more to me than any part time friendships I've had in past.

Lose weight (3st)
I swear every year I have to admit I didn't do this. I have lost nearly a stone but obviously, this is not quite the goal I had set. In truth my yo-yo dieting is becoming a big problem. I have lost about 2 and a half stone altogether this year but I tend to put some on, then lose some over and over again. I desperately need to stop this.

Travel abroad
I didn't travel as much as I wanted to this year (although next year will certainly make up for this). I did go abroad however with my family. this is the first time just me, my Mum and my Brother have been abroad on our own and it was truly amazing. We stayed in a beautiful villa with it's own pool and were spoilt with glorious weather all week.

Continue to upload regularly on my blog and youtube
I have honestly got so much better at this through the year. Where I would previously go a week or two before I started to feel bad about not blogging but now it's a matter of days. I have a set schedule that I like to keep to, and although I don't always get it right. I am blogging a lot more know, and to put it simply, it's because I enjoy it even more than I use to. In terms of youtube, I do find it difficult to fill in my University house but when I get chance I absolutely love it, and feel like my videos have got a lot better in the past year.

Appreciate all the things that I am lucky to have
This year I feel like I have been a lot more thankful, I've appreciated the time I get to spend with my family. My amazing friends at University who are along with my family are my absolute heros have been a main focus this year. I think it's because I know the end of University is on the way, but I am starting to really appreciate that this time next year my whole life will be completely different. I don't nessarily mean this negatively, but it has made me want to appreciate the right now and all that I have.

Accept the way I am
Ok, I still have a huge way to go with this. in truth I am not happy with myself at all and constantly notice every flaw. My friend recently asked me to name something that I really liked about myself and I honestly struggled. It made me feel so embarrassed and ashamed to say I couldn't think of one thing that I liked about myself, how is that acceptable for anyone to think this way. I am determined to get there. I believe that there is nothing wrong with liking yourself and encourage everyone to do the same.

Christmas makeup

I hope everyone had a wonderful christmas if you celebrate it or otherwise.
I tried to keep my makeup quite simple for Christmas and opted for my everday makeup with a small added sparkle. For my primer, I stuck with my trusty Benefit Porefessional which is my all time favourite for smoothing out my skin. For foundation, I'm currently wearing both Rimmel Match Perfection and Rimmel Stay Matte mixed together, as my summer tan is a distant memory and I needed a mix of shades . This combination along with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer and Rimmel London Stay Matte powder gives me perfect coverage over my troublesome acne.

On my eyes, I wore a few shades from my naked palette. Naked and sidecar all over my lid, with Darkhorse and Toasted blended into my crease. It created the perfect shimmer that wasnt too over the top for me. For mascara, I am currently trying out the Maybelline Lash Stiletto which I surprisingly love. Its great for adding curves to my lashes and extended them to look fuller.
On my eyebrows, I opted for HD Brows. I wear this everyday and find that it's perfect for making my naturally thick eyebrows look shapely and full.
For my lips, I decided to wear the Rimmel London lipstick in the shade Asia. It has a great mix of pink and purple and one of my absolute favourite shades at the moment.

What was your Christmas makeup?

Center Parcs

A few weeks ago, before the build up to Christmas, me and my family rushed off to Centre Parcs for a quick getaway. I hadn't seen my family in over 5 weeks, so when I met them at the station I was so happy. In the run up to Christmas, Centre Parcs always hold their annual winter wonderland event. I've never actually been during the Christmas period before but was so excited when we planned to go this year. I've mentioned Centre Parcs a few times on my blog in the past simply because I love it here so much. It's just so nice to take a step back from the hectic parts in life and appreciate being with loved ones in such a beautiful place.

It was absolutely magical filled with fake snow and reindeers. If you have young children it is perfect, although I enjoyed it so much myself! Being joined by ducks and squirrels outside the window every morning has to be one of my favourite things. I could seriously sit and watch them for hours.

A short post today, as I want the pictures to speak for themselves.

Women's Gift Guide

My first gift guide of the year!
I love picking out presents for people, especially small stocking fillers and gift sets, so picking items for this gift guide was so much fun. I really love the letter as it's simple style is perfect accessory to go with any room and I love how it's immediately individual to the person. I have an 'F' in my room and I love how it looks on the bookshelf.

As much a I love my Naked palette it's just far to big to carry around. That is why I think the Naked Basic palette is such a great alternative. Not only is it a affordable gift but it's incredibly useful for everyday.

I feel like the Lush and Soap & Glory products really don't need a explanation as to why they are on this list. They a so great as little gifts or stocking fillers for friends and family. Gift sets are brilliant for Christmas presents as it lets you try a lot of products. Take a look at the Lush gift sets, they are wrapped so beautifully and would look perfect under the tree.

What are you thinking of buying for the women in your life?
