L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Review

For quite a few years now, I have hated the thickness and volume of my hair. While it's frizzy and fly away, it's extremely thin and lacks body. When the Fibrology collection came on the market, I was intrigued to see if a high street brand would be able to thicken my limp and lifeless locks.

The product claims to give 80% more bounce, instantly expand hair and add volume, I was extremely open minded giving the drastic claims. There a five different items in the collection and I decided to purchase three of their five products; the thickening shampoo, the thickening conditioner and the thickness booster. These seem to be the 'essential' products in the collection.

I have been using them every other day for nearly two months and can confirm, that I have not noticed a single difference. My hair feels and acts exactly the same it did before, thin and lifeless. Although I'm clearly disappointed that the product did not work in the way it was supposed to, I can't say I'm that disheartened. If I had spent a lot of money on this, then of course I would have, but these products cost the same amount as the majority of high street shampoos and conditioners. After all, it did wash and condition my hair to a standard I was happy with, of course, that's not an excuse for a product to not perform as it should.

Over all, I wouldn't repurchase the Fibrology collection again, simply because they aren't want I'm looking for. However, I don't regret trying them as there is no less money in my pocket than if I had opted for a different high street range instead. I guess it's just important to remember, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

  1. I bought the shampoo and conditioner a while ago, because like you I wanted to thicken my hair and give it more volume. I don't think it's actually made any difference to my hairs in the way it says it does, but I was a bit cynical anyway. I do find that it gives my hair a lot more volume though if I take the time to properly blow dry it, so I tend to save it for days when I'm doing that, and use different products for when I'm letting my hair dry naturally.

  2. I'm the exact same as you I've always wanted thicker hair. I tried the hair mask of this range and was equally disappointed so I now know not to bother with this range at all!

  3. Such a shame these didn't work! I tried sachets of the shampoo and conditioner (think they were in a magazine or something) and I wasn't impressed, I have quite similar hair to you and it didn't really make a difference. It's lucky that they weren't too expensive! xx
