Making The Leap

A few words of wisdom today, for when life gets scary. I'm always anxious about stepping out of my comfort zone and doing something different. Although it might not be perfect at first, with work and determination, anything can happen.

Plus, who knows, it could be the best decision you'll ever make!

Missguided Coats

I am so obsessed with coats at the moment. I recently bought a red coat in Primark, and while I love it, the bright harsh colour is putting me off slightly. I decide to head straight for Missguided to see if they could resolve this issue. As per usual, they didn't let me down. I'm not completely sure which coat to go for yet, and it wasn't until I was putting this wish list together that I realised I had actually only picked two different styles. Sensible Faye is trying to think of practical and sensible clothing, while fashion Faye is already planning what to pair it with. Which one do I listen to?!

I'm most tempted by the light blue coat on the right, simply because I love the relaxed, yet smart style. What is your favourite?

Rimmel London Match Perfection

Foundations are not my best friend, in fact, we haven't had anything to do with each other for over a year. While they left my skin flawless, they would always, and I mean always cause breakouts after wearing them not matter what my skincare routine was... oh the struggle! As much as I love wearing my tinted moisturiser, I often felt like I was missing out on the flawless finish that foundation often provided. Everything changed when I discovered Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation, however. This stuff is amazing, and its so inexpensive too.

I have been using it for 3 weeks now, and other than the odd spot my skin has been great, and if I dare say it, I actually think my skin may have improved. One problem I tend to find with a lot of the foundations I use is how drying they are on my skin, this one has left my skin perfectly dewy without looking greasy, plus, it lasts all day too. In all honestly I can't actually find a single problem with this foundation and I wish I had tried it sooner.

I bought this on offer from Boots for £5, I repeat £5. It's worth just trying for that price, you could be plesantly surprised like I was!

Lost Dynasty Orchira Earrings

I was recently sent a pair of earring from Orchira. In all honesty, these are not a pair of earring that I would even consider, they seem very sophisticated and I am not!

That being said when they arrived and I'd popped them in my ears, I was so surprised by how much they suited me, if I do say so myself! I tend to wear very small studs in my ears, so was a little nervous about how they would look. I absolutely love them however, and have been wearing them so much since they arrived. As I've been seeing all my friends and family before going back to University, these are have been great for evenings out.

I was reading a magazine the other day, which said that big earrings are on trend this season too, what perfect timing! I'm not going to wear them on night out at University, as I don't want them to get damaged or broken, but I'll be sure to wear these on more elegant evenings and especially during the Christmas season too!

You can find them here

A few people have been asking me recently, what products I use everyday, so I thought I would do a little post about it. My routine stays the same the majority of the time, although I do enjoy trying out new products, the foundation and the mascara being products I'm trying at the moment.

It did actually look like quite a few things when I laid it only but it only takes me about 10 minutes to apply, which is why I love it so much. I'm not one for messing around when it does to my everyday makeup, I'm far too lazy for that!

Quick note- I am so annoyed that I didn't post yesterday, with the drive back to Southampton for Uni, and unpacking all my things I completely ran out of time! Sorry guys, posting everyday will resume!

Floral Dress OOTD

Dress- New Look
Boots- Doc Martens

My last outfit post before I head back to University! I can't believe that I leave tomorrow, I started packing up all my things yesterday and have been reminded that I own far too many clothes. I can't help it though, I love them all! I bought this dress a few weeks ago in the New Look sale and I absolutely love it! The dress was £10 and I think it's perfect for wearing during the day, and dressing up in the evenings. I paired it with my black Doc Martens, and I actually quite like it. I've never really been one too wear chunky boots with my legs out, as I think it makes me legs look (even) bigger.

Tomorrows post will most likely be scheduled, but after that, I will be tweeting from the South. Keep up, lots of exciting things on the way!

Summer Berry Smoothie

When the weather is beautiful, or while it lasts at least, I have been loving grabbing a smoothie when I first wake up. At the moment, my favourite is a Summer Berry Smoothie, I am going to show you how to make today. It is so easy, and I mean really easy and quick to make. This is now my go to breakfast in the sun.

Frozen summer berries. These are quite cheaper than fresh, so are a great alternative if you are on a budget like me. Also, because they come straight from the freezer, the smoothie is cold straight away and instantly refreshing.

Banana. I feel like this makes the basis of the drink and I use it in any smoothies that I make, before adding the addtional fruit. If you don't like banana, which I know a lot of people don't, I would recommend natural or greek yogurt. I personally don't enjoy it half a much with yogurt but I know some people might.

Water. All the water does is makes the smoothies less thick and easier to drink, simple!

I usually only make this for me to drink so will use my hand blender. It's really quick and easy, plus it takes no time at all to clean afterwards. They are usually really affordable too, so would recommend looking at places like Argos if you don't currently own one. If you are making for quite a few servings, then I would recommend a larger blender. All I simply do, is throw it all into together (a big handful of berries is more than enough), and blend, then it's done. It is so simple and take me around five minutes to make. Not bad for a refreshing healthy drink.

What could be easier?

Candle Obsessed

One great thing about Autumn is candles. I love candles all year round, but I always think there is something a little strange about burning one of these beauties in the height of summer. I've already seen a few spiced candles that I think would make my room really warm and cosy, so I can't wait to pick those up in the next few weeks.

One candle that I already own, is the 'Champagne Luxe from Dunelm. I absolutely love the scent of this and have been waiting patiently for the right time to light it, although I'm not really sure when that is.

So yes, this is a post about candles, but after all, are candles pretty great?
(most interior nerd sentence I will most likely ever say!)

Baby Pink OOTD

I can't actually express how much I love this coat. I bought it quite a few weeks ago and had been patiently waiting for the weather to go a little colder, so I could finally wear it. I think this is the first time, that I couldn't wait for Autumn.

I absolutely love the length and style of this coat, as I think it's perfect for wearing with dresses and skirts. Plus, it goes brilliantly with my ever growing collection of boots.

I can't believe that it's 5 days until I head back down south to University. I'm so excited to go back, see my friends and get stuck in. That being said, I'm really looking forward to spending the next few days with my family, as I miss them so much when I'm away. Packing up all my things once again is much less appealing, and then unpacking it all at the other end, is even less appealing. I can't wait to show off my new coat to my housemates at least!

Witch Tinted Moisturiser Review

The majority of the time I don't wear foundation. Ever since I discovered the Witch Anti Blemish Tinted moisturiser, I haven't felt the need for it in my life. I'm not sure exactly how long I've been using it for, but it's a couple of years. What I love most about it, is the fact that it's build able while still adding a reasonable amount of coverage. I usually apply this with a concealer and light powder. I honestly feel the coverage is as good as a lot of foundations on the high street. The main reason I initially picked up this tinted moisturiser was because of the condition of my skin. every time I wore foundations my skin would breakout, and no matter how hard I tried, it wouldn't stop. Although I still get spots, it is nothing compared to the amount I was getting before and my skin feels in much better condition.

I previously hadn't tried many tinted moisturisers, so when I found this I assumed it was similar to a lot of tinted moisturisers out there. That was until I recently tried a high end and a high street version and the quality dramatically lacked in both. The main difference was the amount of coverage and the feel of my skin. My skin is quite dry, so when I usually apply foundations they often dry out my skin even more, that's why I've taken to tinted moisturisers so much, after all, they do moisturise the skin!

I would describe the tinted moisturiser as giving more coverage than a most, so if you are looking for something in-between a foundation and moisturiser I would recommend this 100%

Try it, it's extremely inexpensive for the amazing quality of the product.

Blog Your Heart Out Tag

1. Who/What encouraged you to start blogging?

I have watched YouTube videos since I was about 14 years old, and although I really wanted to make my own, I never really had the confidence. I actually started my blog when I was 17 as an alternative to vlogging and I am honestly so glad that I did. Blogging has become one of my favourite things.

2. How did you choose what topics to blog about?

I blog about anything that is current in my life at the time. If there is a product that I'm loving, or an item of clothing that I can't stop wearing then I will be sure to blog about it. Even little things that are happening in my life often find a way into posts, I just write all my ideas down in my notebook.

3. What is something most people don't know about you?

Ohh I hate questions like these, no doubt I will think of something amazing the day after I upload this. Not many people know that I went to an all girls school and college.

4. What three words describe your style?

I honestly don't know. Sometimes I'm quite casual and wear anything other times I'm extremely picky. Three styles I love are grunge, boho and mod, although I wouldn't say I fit into any of these particularly well!

5.What do you love to do when you're not blogging?

I love spending time with my friends and family, going on little adventures and reading. I'd love to travel and see the world more when I get chance!

I'm tagging everyone, please let me know if your do this tag!

My New Room

This post is unfortunately not a room tour, (expect that soon though), but basically a post of me gushing about how much I love my new room. My old decor was tired and old, reminding me of my 16 year old self. I can't exactly pinpoint what it was that I didn't like about my old room, but it didn't feel like 'me' anymore. I was increasingly spending more time outside of my room, and the pink walls, matched with the single bed, made me feel particularly pubescent.

Tadaaaaa! *smiles with glee*

Ok, so you can only see one shelf in the whole room, but it's something right?! Although there are a lot of things that I love about my new room, these ornaments have got to be one of my favourite. I wasn't looking for a particular theme when I was picking out things, but surprisingly, they all work pretty well together. I'm not really sure what the theme is, but it's a theme at least!

My room isn't actually that big so the single is having to stay, but like the bed, I'm also single, so I doubt I will be fighting for space! I can't wait to post the rest of my room, once the final pieces have been bought. The more eagle eyed of you, will have seen a little more of my room when I have done outfit posts!

Expect the rest very soon!

L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Review

For quite a few years now, I have hated the thickness and volume of my hair. While it's frizzy and fly away, it's extremely thin and lacks body. When the Fibrology collection came on the market, I was intrigued to see if a high street brand would be able to thicken my limp and lifeless locks.

The product claims to give 80% more bounce, instantly expand hair and add volume, I was extremely open minded giving the drastic claims. There a five different items in the collection and I decided to purchase three of their five products; the thickening shampoo, the thickening conditioner and the thickness booster. These seem to be the 'essential' products in the collection.

I have been using them every other day for nearly two months and can confirm, that I have not noticed a single difference. My hair feels and acts exactly the same it did before, thin and lifeless. Although I'm clearly disappointed that the product did not work in the way it was supposed to, I can't say I'm that disheartened. If I had spent a lot of money on this, then of course I would have, but these products cost the same amount as the majority of high street shampoos and conditioners. After all, it did wash and condition my hair to a standard I was happy with, of course, that's not an excuse for a product to not perform as it should.

Over all, I wouldn't repurchase the Fibrology collection again, simply because they aren't want I'm looking for. However, I don't regret trying them as there is no less money in my pocket than if I had opted for a different high street range instead. I guess it's just important to remember, that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Black Velvet OOTD

Top- Primark
Skirt- Charity Shop
Boots-New Look

Opps, the boots are out again! I just couldn't help myself!
I've been wearing them most days since I bought them and I honestly don't want to take them off, I might just sleep in them. Ok, too far! I'm just really loving the style of chunky boots at the moment, as always!

I kind of stumble upon this outfit today when I was trying to find a pair of trousers to go with this top, of course, they were all in the wash so I ended up wearing this skirt. I bought the skirt last week in a charity shop near me, you can't really tell on the photographs but it is actually velvet. I love it so much as it's just a little twist on the skater skirt that so many people are wearing at the moment. Plus, at £2.99 it was a complete bargain! I can see myself wearing this outfit a lot in the next few months, and perhaps adding some tights for when the weather turns a little colder.

What changes are you making so your outfits are Autumn ready?
