Yorkshire Dales

Last week, my Brother and I took a trip up to Yorkshire with my Dad. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and were determined to make the most of it. We stayed in a beautiful spot, right next to the serene town of Settle. Filled with cute shops and independent caf├ęs, it was the perfect getaway.

With numerous World Cup matches on everyday, it wasn't hard for me to find chance to sneak away to take in the breathtaking views of the Yorkshire Dales. I'll be the first to admit that when the sun is shining our country is one the most idyllic places on earth.

Luckily, my dad has just bought a caravan in Yorkshire, so I can see many trips in the future to explore the never ending hills and beautiful landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales.

My Summer Essentials

Coral/Peach Lipstick- I absolutely love wearing lip balms and lipsticks but especially during summer. Peach colour lipsticks are perfect for a relaxed look during summer and compliment any outfit.

Tinted Moisturiser- Great to put on and go this time of the year, the Witch tinted moisturiser is my best friend! Because I often have breakouts I use it all year round. The coverage is great and adds a beautiful glow, perfect for summer!

Books- I love reading books all year round, but there is something so perfect about grabbing a book and going and sitting out in the sun, getting lost in the stories. I have a whole stack of books to get through this summer and I can't wait to get started.

Camera- If you are a bit of a photography nerd like me, then you will most likely always have your camera with you. I especially love the lighting during summer as it can really make for beautiful photos. If you are looking to get into photography, try going out in dusk or dawn, you will be stunned by the results you get.

Sunglasses- A complete necessity in more ways than one. Not only are sunglasses a great fashion accessory, they are of course incredibly important at protecting your eyes and skin from harmful sun rays. Like sun cream, (which I think is a pretty obvious essential so therefore not included) sunglasses are hugely important. The ones above are my ray bans, which I absolutely love and have been wearing for the past 4 years!

Moisturiser-It's so important to keep the skin smooth and healthy all year round, but particularly during summer when you are flaunting the flesh so to speak! I have fallen in love with the Garnier moisturiser with a gradual tanner. Not only is it making my skin silky smooth but the hint of tan is helping to discourage to the milk bottle colour I would have been otherwise sporting on my first day around the pool!

What are your summer essentials?

Tea on The Wall Chester

Despite being incredibly busy over the last few weeks, I finally found the time to take Mum out for afternoon tea to celebrate Mothers Day... better late than never! Having already bought vouchers, we headed to Tea on The Wall in Chester. I absolutely love Chester it's full of culture and history, and although it's quite small it has pretty much everything. A definite recommendation if you are looking to get away but want somewhere where there is plenty to do, or you really love cute cafes.

As if the name isn't enough of a clue, the cafe was actually on top of Chester walls, looking down on part of the city below. It made such an amazing view and although we went on a rather muggy day, I think it would be perfect when the sun is shining. The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious and was consumed rather quickly by both my mum and I (we couldn't help ourselves). As we were the only people in there, it did at times feel a little uncomfortable but that may be because I am incredibly awkward (surprise surprise!)

Overall it was beautiful place to visit and the afternoon tea was super scrumptious. I was also extremely welcoming of the glass of Procesco that was included too. A definite recommendation from me, perfect for a little snack and most certainly reminded me of my love for cute independent cafes.

A year ago today...

A year ago today, at this very time I was most likely a few thousand miles above the Atlantic Ocean. Off on a adventure for three weeks around the west of America with one of my best friends.Excitement and fear loomed, I had never been abroad without my parents before, let alone the other side of the world.

It was an amazing trip and I met so many beautiful people that have inspired me to travel so much more and be the very best I can be.

I'll keep this short, because I really just wanted to do a bit of self reflection on the past year on how much I have changed and how happier I am now. I encourage everyone to do the same on a day that means something to you, it really is eye opening.
