Illamasqua SALE- Foundations £5

Cream Foundation £23- £5
Lipstick (Magnetism) £16.50- £5

Although desperately trying to save as much money as I can at the moment, when I saw that Illamaqua had a sale on, I couldn't resist picking up a few things when I saw the incredible offers. Despite the vast selection, I decided to opt for two products I knew I would use regularly. Trying a new foundation has been on my wish list for the past few months. Although I love using my tinted moisturiser everyday, I was looking for an alternative in case my skin was particularly bad or to reduce shine. I assume that because the sale has been so popular, the foundation shades available were quite limiting. I did however decide to opt for the shade CF 150, as this seemed closest to my skin tone. Since arriving, I have only used it a couple of times but can already tell that it is pretty much the perfect shade for my skin, and pretty much, exactly what I was looking for in a foundation... yippee!

As for the lipstick, this is not usually a shade that I would go for as it is a little bit too dark for me. However, taking the plunge and trying to opt for something a little different, I decided to pick up this lipstick in the shade Magnetism. It is a warm berry shade which I think is perfect for this time of year, and although, I am yet to build up the courage to wear it completely, I have been putting a small amount onto my lips just to give them a bit of colour, and I have to admit that I really love it already!

Unfortunately, it appears that the sale is no longer on. However, given that they have free delivery and a whole host of products that I would never have considered buying before, I have well and truly got the Illamasqua bug... I'm secretly hoping that there isn't a cure!

Yankee Candle: Cherry Blossom

For Christmas this year, I was lucky enough to receive a Yankee Candle from my Mum.
My very first
While I have tried the tarts and tea lights in the past, I have never had a huge jar all to myself. Having picked out the candle myself just before Christmas I knew that the scent, Cherry Blossom, was one of my favourites from Yankee. It's a really refreshing smell and really makes me feel like I am in a field of flowers, perfect for the build up to spring. I have only been lighting it for just over a week, but it is already burnt a third of the way down... I just can't get enough!

January Wishlist

Although I feel like Chirstmas was only last week, my Birthday is coming up in less than a month and I am already being asked by family what I would like to receive on the special day. I spent quite a lot of time looking to find any must have... and trust me, it wasn't that hard to come across some beauties!

Nike Blazer- I have wanted  pair of these for such a long time but can never bring myself to fork out the £70 for them, knowing full well I have enough trainers in my wardrobe. I am however, becoming more tempted as I think they are absolutely stunning and perfect for everyday. I have picked them out in the colour baby blue although after having a peek around their website, I think they look lovely in virtually every colour available. The blue however would be perfect for high waisted shorts in summer, as well as jeans and leggings. Versatile and practical, sounds like a necessity!
Neon Trees Albums- I talked about my love for this band in my Music Monday post last week. I am completely obsessed with them at the moment and have had their album on repeat on Youtube. That being said I would really like to buy the albums so I have my own copies.
Indian Inspired Wall Hanging- I have been thinking about getting a wall hanging like this for a while. For the past few months, I have really began to be inspired by Indian decor and art. So when I found this on Ebay for only £20, I knew that the colours would go perfectly in my University bedroom and was exactly what I was looking for.
Canon 50mm Lens- Since finding this a few days ago, I can't stop looking at it. A lens like this will allow the subject in the foreground to stay in focus while the background becomes out of focus, similar to the human eye. Not only would this achieve the perfect style of photographs I want for my for my blog but would also allow me to experiment with photography in general, something I am really hoping to do this year.
Water Colour World Map- I have been trying to find art work to hang up in both my University room, and my room at home for the past few months. I've had quite a bit of trouble finding exactly what I want, because, well I didn't really know what I wanted. I 'm not 100% in love with the painting but I love the use of water colours and the fact that it is a world map, which to me represents travel.
New Look Green Jumper- Most likely the simplest item from my wish list is the green jumper, but of course this doesn't mean it's any less important. Jumpers are essential and especially this time of year. New Look offer this one in a range of colours but green was my favourite. Teamed with a pair of leggings, some trainers and a woolly hat and you can't go wrong.

Is there anything on your wish list that you're hoping for?

Center Parcs

Last week, I was lucky enough to go to Center Parcs with my family. Having been before, I couldn't wait to get back and spend time at one of my favourite places. Although I enjoy the facilities and activities available at the Parc, being surrounded by nature has got to be the biggest highlights for me. Waking up early one morning, I decided to go out and take the photos above while on a little walk. It was absolutely beautiful and really allowed me to appreciate the beauty of our own country that sometimes gets overlooked.

Feel Blessed

It's rarely in life they I utter the words "blessed" Not being religious, I often feel that the words don't relate to me or I don't have the right to feel blessed if it has not come from a higher being. It has only been in recent weeks that I have started to believe that I am well and truly blessed, no matter where this blessing came from I should celebrate and enjoy the amazing positives in my life. It is often too easy to compare yourself to others and look at what they have, look like or act. Believe me, being on a university course full of gorgeous girls and living with 4 of my closest friends can often lead to comparisons taking over. Its only when you step back and look at the whole picture focusing on your own life and what you have to be thankful for that you really start to realise what you have.

I guess it maybe Christmas that has go me all sentimental but I feel like my eyes have been opened and I am finally starting to realise how lucky we all are. It's easy to get cause up in the drama of everyday life but taking a break like Christmas makes you realise what you have and what is worth keeping. It also makes me question, why did i deserve this? Why do I deserve this life more than someone who is struggling or perhaps living a nightmare? There is no real answer. all we can do is accept the power we have been given and put it to good use, and yes, it is ok to feel blessed about certain aspects of our lives because we truly are.

Music Monday: Neon Trees

There is something so satisfying finding a new band where you can imagine dancing and singing to every song. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's perfect!

I have been listening to Neon Trees for a few months now and while I liked their music when they popped up on my playlist, I never thought about listening to their full albums, I really don't know why! However, for the past few weeks I have been listening to their albums non-stop and I just can't get enough. The American band is described online as alternative rock although I did think that have a hint of pop-rock to some of their songs as well. If you haven't listened to them before I completely suggest you give them a try, I swear you won't regret it!

VIDEO: Cosy Bedroom Tour

Having been quite bad at uploading videos recently, I wanted my first video of the year to be my best.
I spent a lot of time trying to make my university room feel as cosy and comfortable as possible during the Christmas season, so thought what better way to show it than in a video, with the addition of some fancy music of course. I spent quite a bit of time editing but I am super happy with how the video turned out. It definitely makes me feel cosy and warm and I hope it does to you too.
