New year, new me. That's what we all say right?!

Every year I set myself some targets for the year rather than resolutions. That way even if it takes me till November to achieve I know that I have all year to aim for. I sometimes find that resolutions can mean that one day you're acting like a completely different person to the day before and can often lead to unrealistic goals.

Last year on this very day,  I made a blog post about my aims for the year, which you can check out here, I can't believe a whole year has past! Below are the targets I set myself for the year 2012 and whether I finally reached my goals.

Nail my interview and Get into University
(I have an interview for Southampton Solent Uni)
If you have been reading my blog this year you will know that not only did I get an offer after my interview but I also got the grades to get into university. The past few months have been so different but I'm really loving Uni and I know that it can only get better!

Get the A level results I will be proud of
This is probably one of my greatest achievements this year. At the start of last year I never would have thought that I would be able to get the grades to get into university. After resiting exams and resubmitting numerous amounts coursework I was able to get better grades than I would have thought possible this time last year.

Organise my time management between blogging, College work and sitting around personal life
Now this is something that I still think I need to work on. I'm ok when I get started but I tend to constantly find excuses for not doing things. I'm not sure why because once I start blogging or start my university work I really enjoy it, its just the starting which seems to take a while. I think a specific schedule will help with this next year.

Finally build up the courage to make You Tube videos
This didn't happen! However, I've basically decided that its definitely something that I want to do its just a case of when. It will be within the next year though!

Soak up every moment I spend with my family and friends
This is something that has definitely changed since university. Living in Southampton, I am 4 hours away from home, so when I do visit home I really value the time I spend with my family and friends. I've already planned a lot of things to do with my friends next year and can't wait!
Increase my confidence
I'm really not sure about this one. Since being at uni I've felt like the shyest person in the world and its actually ended up making me less confident than I was before. I know that its work in progress and when I think about all the little things I've missed out because I didn't speak up or just go with the flow. Its a real aim of mine for 2013 and I will kick this!

Lose 5 stone... Yes, 5!
Ok, now looking back I realise how ridiculous this goal was. Loosing 5 stone in a year was an extremely silly goal so I ended up just aiming to lose as much as possible. I'm so happy that in the past year I managed to lose just under 3st, 2st 12.5lbs to be exact. I'm really proud of myself for it and although I still have a way to go, I made some serious changes this year and I will be continuing with these next year to finally reach my goal weight

Meet lots of new people
I've definitely done this from university. Its so exciting and strange knowing that there are so much more people I'm going to meet along the way. I'm really looking forward to getting to know the people I've met more and hopefully making friends for life.

Start selling the creative things that I make

This is something that I decided I don't really have time for at the moment. With university life and work, friends, family and blogging, I don't think I really have time to make anything let alone sell the things I make. Its definitely something I'm thinking about in the future as I would love to sell the things that I make.

Look back on the year and smile at all the happy times
I'm one of those pessimistic people who always remembers the bad times rather than the fun memories. This year has been such a mix but I've had some truly amazing parts. Some which I've mentioned above!
Last year I set myself 10 goals so I'm going to be doing another 10 for 2013. The first few are on going from last year.
Lose 2 stone
(Yes, that final 2 stone)
Create a schedule of when I'm going to Blog or do Uni work
Start making You Tube videos
Stop being so God Damn shy!
Stop worrying so much what other people think of me
Visit a foreign country
Photograph the special moments
Take a road trip with friends
Work hard with University work
Smile and be grateful for what I have

And to end on, heres something super cute that I found that I thought would be perfect to do all year long...

Christmas OOTD

It pains me so much that these are slightly out of focus!
Firstly, I hope the everyone had a brilliant Christmas and soaked up the precious time with family. I had a really great day filled with food, laughs and a lot more food! This is my outfit from Christmas day. Its a smart casual look but that's what we tend to wear in my house. The dress is from Internationale and I absolutely love it. Its great for someone like me as it covers my arms and stomach without completely losing my shape, a definite recommend for a curvy gal. I paired the dress with black tights, these are a thick denier as I find these more comfortable. Its quite a simple outfit but I really like it as it can be dressed up or down.
I hope you all had a great day

The Christmas Tag

 Its Christmas Eve Eve Eve!
I really wanted to get this post up as soon as possible to give the opportunity for my lovely followers to post there responses on their blogs (let me know if you do). I thought this one was really sweet and its a great way to get to know people.
1.Whats Your Favourite Holiday Movie?
Ohh there's SOO many, I love Home Alone, The Muppet's Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street. Anything that gets me excited!

2. Whats Your Favourite Christmas Colour?
Probably green or gold, anything with glitter.

3. Do You Like To Stay in Your PJs Or Dress Up For Christmas?
I tend to spend the first few hours in the most festive pyjamas I can find then get all dolled up to... well spend the day around the house!

4. If You Could Only Buy One Person a Present This Year Who Would It Be?
This is a tough one. I would probably say my mum. I think she is probably the most deserving person that I buy presents for.
5. Do You Open Your Present Christmas Eve Or Christmas Morning?
We have little stockings in the morning and a few presents but tend to save the rest for the afternoon, that way they last all day!

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
If setting the hob on fire, ruining a pan and loosing your temper counts then yes, we got that far.

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
Spend time with my loved ones, watch films and eat lots.

Everyone to have a lovely Christmas and a brilliant New Year, me included! :)

Christmas Time

The decorations are up, the turkeys been ordered and I have a stack of christmas films waiting to be watched, if the fire worked, I'm sure that would be on too! I really enjoying taking these pictures and its made me even more excited about being back at home and spending Christmas with my favourite people. I hope everyone is excited as I am for the festive season. Tis the season to be jolly... sleep, laugh alot and eat too much.
What are you most excited for about Christmas?

I'm one of those people who doesn't go out and buy new products every month, hence why I don't post monthly favourites on my blog. Even though I haven't been shopping recently there have been some really great products that have stood out as essential items in my everyday routine.
I featured Benefits Powda Wowzer on my blog about this time last year as an item I was lusting over. As you can see I was lucky enough to be blessed with the product over Christmas last year and I've loved it ever since. The set includes versions of Bella Bamba Blush, Hoola Bronzer and Coralista Blush. Its Hoola Bronzer which is the dark brown powder in the palette that has become my recent obsession for contouring. I've never really used bronzers before as I've struggled applying them in a natural way. However, with the purchase of a new brush recently it has really become an essential part of my daily make up routine.
The Witch Anti Blemish stick was actually sent to me from Witch a while ago. I never really used it until about a month ago when I had a really bad break out. The product is really easy to use and by simply applying the product to the breakout area reduces the redness of spots within hours. Its really great size for caring in your bag to clear blemishes on the go. Something that always makes me want to use Witch products is there use of natural ingredients and previous experience with the brand.
My next current favourite is the H&M lip balm. I brought this a couple of months ago but it has become a staple in my handbag especially over winter with the cold weather. I'm one of those people who always like to wear lip balms or lipsticks and I'm constantly buying different shades or brands. This particular balm is in the flavour vanilla and is such a nice scent. I rate this product highly and it most likely one of the best products that I have used all year.
The Nivea Daily Essential moisturiser has been the product I've been using for about the past year and a half. Its a real great budget product that's perfect for applying just before putting on your make up or just after cleansing. Its seriously a great product for hydrating the face and makes applying my make up so much more easy.
What long term or newly discovered products have you been loving recently?

Winter Wishlist - Non Beauty Items

|Ukulele|Listography|Soft Box Lighting|Maroon 5 Album|Macbook Pro|

Can't Wait!
I don't know if its just me but is anyone completely over the top excited for Christmas. I think its being away from home this year that made me more thrilled for the festive season. Although I have my Christmas tree and advent calender up in my room, it still doesn't feel quite right and can't wait to go home and enjoy Christmas with my family. Of course I've spent numerous hours looking online over what I'm wishing for in my stocking this year.
If you haven't heard of the Listography books before I strongly recommend that you check them out. The great little books are filled with lists of all the things you've achieved or want to and they're super cute as well! I also mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to learn to play an instrument, my choice... the ukulele. A little random I know, but I think its super sweet and will definitely be a start to getting me on the 'musical ladder'. Another musical item I'm craving for would definitely be the Maroon 5 album, I know that its been out a couple of months but I think the band are truly amazing and can't wait to get my hands on it.
Something that I'm really really hoping for this year is camera lighting, I've thought about making YT videos for a long time so its something I may consider, but I also have an SLR camera that I don't feel I'm using to its full potential. Not only will the lighting improve my blog pictures, but it will also improve any photography work I have to do at University. To be honest, I also think that they are a real bargain compared to some of the camera lighting out there. My must wishful present would definitely have to be the Macbook Pro. Now there is no way on earth that I am getting this for Christmas unless my family soon come into large amounts of money.
A girl can dream though, right?!

A lot of catching up to do

How ya doing?
I really feel like I have spoken properly on my blog for ages. I've been uploading sceduled posts, reviews and wishlists for the past few months but haven't really been sharing whats been going on. Its pretty difficult to know where to start but I would have to say that the biggest change would have to of been moving to University. I did mention it a few weeks ago but haven't really mentioned about how its going.
So far I really am loving it and extremely happy that I am once again livng in the south (I'm studying a Southampton). Although the move has been pretty difficult to adjust to initially I am finally starting to feel like I'm settling in. My room has become filled with photos, books and posters all to make the place feel more homely, and to be honest its really working. Considering how close I am to specifically my mum but my brother too I thought that I would be feeling a lot worse than I do but I know they are only a phone call or a (four hour!) train ride away.
I'm starting to feel like I'm meeting people too. Suffering from SAD (social anxiety disorder) I found it really difficult to talk to large groups of people and make friends when I first started uni, and although I still feel like I haven't met a huge number of people I've definately pushed myself out of my comfort zone and with time can hopefully make even more friends. My course is pretty great at the moment, its strange dragging yourself out of bed in the mornings but not having to dread the days lecture or seminar because you know thats it somethings you really want to do.
I went home last weekend for my Nans 80th and she had come up to see my Dad and brother. It was great to see her and my whole family. It also meant that I managed to squeeze in time to see my friends. It was so nice to see them and as much as I love Southampton, I really can't wait to spend Christmas at home with my friends and family this year.
I've got quite a few post planned over the next few months, some which I am super excited for you to see! Please message me any posts you would like to see specifically

Skin Types

With the vast variety of skincare products that are available it can be difficult to find the correct product for you. Skin type is a really important factor that must be considered in order to make sure that the correct product is being used. My current skin type is dry, however, it does often change depending on the weather and climate so my skin type is usually oily/combination. It is important to remember that your skin type can change due to a variety of factors such as diet, climate and age.

Oily Skin
This is when the skin is shiny especially in the T-zone. They may also suffer from large pores on the skin and be prone to blackheads and common breakouts. A positive of oily skin is that it ages better than dry skin as the oils keep the skin more plump. Oily skin is more common in younger females. Products that claim to be suited for oily skin will work well and it is important that exfoliation takes place twice and week and using an oil-free moisturiser. In terms of make oil free foundation or powder products will work better on the skin.
Combination/Normal skin
The majority of women have combination/normal skin. combination skin means a slightly oily T-zone with dryer cheeks or dry patches on the skin. possibly large pores on the cheeks and forehead. This skin type has medium pores, a smooth and even texture, good circulation and a healthy colour. With combination it may be required to use additional different products for certain areas.
Dry Skin
Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. you have a tendencies towards fine lines and wrinkles. women of colour may find that there skin appear dull. Heavy cleansers and moisturiser will help. many company's have produced products that are suited for this skin type. exfoliating weekly and using a primer before applying foundation will help to plump the skin as much as possible.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin tend to be thin with fine pores. If you are irritated by the sun or particular products than you make have red patches or blotches on the skin. it can be difficult at times to find the correct products but companies are introducing more products targeted at sensitive skin. Look for mild products that contain no scents

Topshop Wishlist

'I must not go in there!'
This is the message that I keep telling myself everytime I got to the shops, often for something as simple as milk. However, before I know it, I find myself surrounded by beautiful rings, leather belts and pelum skirts. Having my student loan is more difficult than I thought and I'm constantly worrying about budgeting until the next part of my loan comes through. One advantage, (I guess!) is that the post to my accomadation takes so long that there is no chance that I will be ordering online. Therefore, I am free to preuse online with the promise to myself that I don't later go into the shop and purchase anything I've seen on the web. I hope it isn't just me that struggles with this war against fashion.

One Day...

A place of culture, fashion and VERY expensive houses, Kensington. When recently visiting London I fell in love with Kensington. Its one of the most beautiful places and despite the rain that was pouring the whole time I was there I was still in a daze about the wonderful houses.
I hope I'm not the only one who likes to imagine where they want to live throughout the different stage of their life. For me, it has to be a City town house (preferably in Kensington, but then again I'm not made of money!) while I'm in my 20s to early 30s. Then once I decide to settle down move further away from the city, eventually living in a gorgeous retirement cottage near the beach. I wonder how much of that will actually happen! Even so, I still love looking at the houses and imaging one day that it could be me living there. I posted some images from (Links to each are underneath the images) that I felt were just so beautiful and inspiring. Although it may seem like I'm aiming high, I think that its good to, and who knows I may be blogging from my study overlooking Hyde Park one day!

Where is your one day?

University So Far...

I've been at university now for just over two weeks and I still can't get my head around the fact that I'm actually here. I seriously feel like I'm way too young to be at University and actually studying for a degree! I moved in to my little home two weeks ago today and since then I've really made my room my own, with pictures and posters all over the walls (Photos coming soon!). I'm finally feeling settled so really want to step get back into my blogging schedule again... yayyyyy! I was just making a list of things I wanted to post about and I realised that I have so much to say about whats being going on and what I've been loving and loathing in terms of products over the past few weeks. I can't wait to tell you all!

Quilting and Studs| OOTD

|Top-Primark| Jacket-Primark| Leggings-New Look| Shoes- Primark
I always find that its only when you put a whole outfit together that nearly all the clothes come from the same place (in my case, Primark). As much as I love the bargins and on seasons trends for Primark, I do often find that you'll see at least 2 other people wearing the same item as you. That's why I've started looking at more independent website or high street boutiques in the search for something individual. However, above all my favourite place when I'm looking for something different has to be Charity Shops. There is such a vast selection and you can never be sure what you are going to find when you enter a shop. I loved charity shops even when I was a lot younger, I think I've always been a bit of a bargain hunter!
This week has so far be full of lasts. As I leave for Uni in less then a week, everything I've done has been met with this is the last time I'm going to.... I saw my friends yesterday and although I might see them again before we go it really hit me that although we all promise to keep in touch what are the chances that we actually will, or will we find life getting in the way before we know it. I've been so caught up in packing and getting ready, I've not really had much time to think about the fact that I'm leaving. Yes, I know that I am coming back but with Southampton being so far away from where I live now I really doubt that I will ever live back at home again after I've started my course. It would be great if anyone had any advice about university especially the first few weeks.

Miss Selfridge| Wishlist

With a new season upon the horizon what better way to prepare than building  the new A/W wardrobe (any excuse eh?). Miss Selfridge has recently become one of my favourite shops, and while the clothes are to die for their price can often be too. Being a student means that for the majority of time you can't spend as much as you would like in the shops you would like. So instead I make colourful pictures of the items I desperately want to get my hands on, hoping that will replace some of the emptiness I feel in my wardrobe... a tad dramatic I know!

Cuts and Studs | OOTD

|Top-Primark | Leggings- Select | Shoes- Primark | Bracelets- (L-R) New Look, Primark, Clothes show |

I brought this shirt a few days ago from Primark and I am literally in love with it. The cut out at the top is made from faux leather and because its such a simple shirt, I can see myself wearing it on a night out and day to day. Although you can't see my leggings in this post their just plain black, so pretty boring but I think coloured leggings (perhaps grey) would go really well with this top. My shoes were an absolute find from Primark as I have been waiting for a cheap alternative to the infamous studded loafers from Topshop. They also had them in cream and I can't tell you how much I want to go back and buy those too! (I am in lovee with studs at the moment). My accessories for this outfit were seriously simple. The front bracelet is similar to a bike chain and has a cross hanging off it, I seriously love this but just wish it was a little bigger (you can barely see it!).

This week has been majorly hectic, its finally starting to set in that I will be moving in to Uni in three weeks time. I swear I should still be about 13! My mum insisted on getting all my clothes out now so I'm practically wearing rags from now until I leave (luckily these pictures were taken before).  With piles in my dinning room, spare room and bedroom, I'm living in a mist of boxes and bags ready for the big move.  199 miles away from my bed, mum and home cooked meals... whats there to be nervous about?!

In the Eye of the Beholder

Photography is something that I am so passionate about and often engrossed by. However, I often find that I focus on other peoples work rather than my own, using excuses like "I have no time", "my life is too boring to take pictures of" and any other excuse I can cunger up.  Last week I had a change of heart, so when I went on a short walk with my Mum I decided I would take my camera along too. I'm so glad I did as the sun was just setting and it made for some really nice shots and I really enjoyed playing around with it. Although I'm not particularly in love with the image above its a start towards taking more pictures and hopefully posting more images on my blog. After all the beauty of an image is in the eye of the beholder!

Favourite | Large Rings

Cross Ring- Ebay (LINK)
Blue- Primark
Yellow- Primark
Eye Ring- Ebay (LINK)
Gold Ring- Primark

I absolutely love to wear rings but mostly stick to ones that have smaller detail as this means that I can often wear more without it being overpowering. This is however, my 5 favourtie large rings. The majority of these rings are worn occassionaly and usually to add something to a simple outfit. They aren't exactly the biggest ring out there but I usually opt for something simple or 'dainty' for everyday.

(I'm really obsessed with simple colour stone rings at the moment so if anybody knows where to get these or to be honest any style of rings (I'm obsessed) let me know!)

'All For My Daisy' | OOTD

T-shirt- Internacionale
Leggings- George (ASDA)
Shoes- Primark (Mens)
Watch- DKNY

Just a quick OOTD, its a pretty laid back look and I was just spending the day around the house and running a few errands. I am in love with these leggings at the moment. They remind me of summer everytime I look at them, which is more than can be said for the current British weather!

Hellooooo and welcome to any new suscribers, I just wanted to do a quick post today to tell you that I am going to be working on my blog layout and look over the next week, nothing major but I just feel it needs a bit of a freshen up. If anyone is any help about adding buttons/tabs it would be much appreciated thanks and have a lavalllyyy day!

Silky Sexy Hair Review

I haven't done a review in such a long time that I thought now would be a brilliant time for one. I recently decided to invest a little more money in the shampoo and conditioner that I use. Have tried a sample of Big Sexy Hair in the some (and falling in love with it) I thought I would look at getting the bottles full size. Now, my hair is majorly frizzy so way I found so many alternatives the Big Sexy Hair I thought great just what I'm looking for. They also sell Short, Curly, Silky, Straight, Healthy and an organic range. I did spend a while debating and looking at lots of reviews but decided to go for Silky Sex hair. These were a little harder to get cheaper but thought that they would be worth it.

Whats great about the silky sexy hair is that they do it in two types 'thin and fine hair' and 'thick and coarse hair', considering the frizzy mast of hair I have a I opted for the thick and coarse one. I ordered from this website The delivery was quick and the products arrived in a couple of days. I received a small 'big sexy' shampoo which I thought was a really nice extra goody.

In terms of the product itself I was a little less impressed. The packaging is very sort of 'floppy' if you get me. Its a little thicker than a water bottle which was annoying considering the price I paid for these products. I have been using the products for over a month now and my hair doesn't feel any different really. I have had problems if I leave my hair an extra day before washing, say if I'm have a ballerina bun and need it a little less 'clean', when I next wash it its still greasy when it drys. Its like the shampoo isn't good enough to get rid of the dirt's and oils.

Because of this I doubt I will repurchase, the product itself is ok but I would expect to see a product this good for about £4 in a random shop. I really don't think that its worth paying the extra for this considering its added nothing to my hair. I do however, want to try out Big sexy hair again as I really think that it made a difference to my hair, opinions would be highly valued.

Ombre Hair Crave

All images from google

Forevarrr now I have wanted to ombre my hair. Its something that I was first interested in when I first started blogging. Since then, I have noticed that it has become more and more common with many people at my college now sporting the look. This mad me want the look even more! I made a promise to myself to go and get this done and as I needed my hair dyed I thought I might opt for a whole new look at the same time!

So I finally went and had it done. I'm really happy with the result and so glad to have my hair dyed back to its natural colour at the top now. I think next time I will ask for the colour a little higher up but apart from that I really like it and its been a great accessory in recent weeks. Apologies for no pictures these will follow shortly!

River Lusts

While looking through the files on my computer, I came across this little wishlist. After a few ahhs at the items I had longed for and forgot I decided to upload it in to a post. Being on a spending ban and a strict diet means that these clothes are out of bounds, in the hope that I will one day be able to afford and look good in them! The wishlist above show my absolute lusts from River Island about a week ago. I imagine that they will still have these in stock as they were from the 'new in' section at the time. I seemed to find so much I liked, I was practically lusting over the whole of the shop!

Is there anything that you are particually lusting over at the moment or style that you can't wait to try out?

Whats in my purse

I got this purse a couple of weeks ago after searching high and low for purse as my old one has been falling apart for months. I found this purse at an antiques centre near to where I live. they have a leather shop which smells SOOO good and full of gorgeous bags and purses. I managed to get this beauty for £10, yes £10! It was reduced form £35 due to being imperfect. By which I mean the leather hadn't been stretched quite right it was the tiniest problem and probably would of charged about £30 if it had be my shop... not going to argue though!

Obviously I can't show you all the cards that I keep inside but I can show you a few and tell you what I keep where. being left handed it would be some much easier if it opened in the other direction as I'm forever opening it upside down. Anyway, I tend to keep the cards I use the most in the inside flap this being bank card, ID, Student card, NI and Boots card (ahaaa). I then keep a few other cards in the rest of the purse such as Costa, UCAS, Superdrug and my Library card. What a mixture haa!

The back part is great for lose change as it means I don't have to open the hole purse the every time I want a little money out. In side i also have another zip compartment that I keep vouchers and notes in... not that I ever carry any around with me. The rest of the purse also has two compartments which I use to keep receipts and notes inside.

So there we go, a pretty borring purse as far as they go but I thought it might be a nicer way then show you here look... I've brought a purse! ha. Hope you are all doing well
