Something a little different....

I was in two minds as whether to blog about this at first but I knew I owed you guys an explanation for my lack of posting (and good posts at that!)

As mentioned in a previous post, I've had serious problems managing my time since going back to college, something I'll come back to in a minute. Anyway, on Thursday I received, what I consider devastating news. 2 People in my Media class at college had their AS Level papers remarked as they were close to the next grade (this was a few weeks ago). They came back 2 GRADES higher... YES 2! My teacher was so surprised he suggested we got them all remarked. (I was quite happy because I got a grade lower than I wanted and was predicted in all my subjects). I think you can pretty much guess what happened!

My head of sixth form came to find me and tell me, that not only had my mark gone down, but so had my grade!. She also told me that this had never happened in her teaching career before (she is head of English at my school and about 40-45) and how 'crap' the news was!
I was completely gutted after she told me as Media is what I am hoping to take onto University! I'm sure many of you will be familiar of receiving bad news and not being able to think about anything else and assuming you life is over. That's I have spent the last few days.

Anyway, finally get back to blogging! while online yesterday I came across this quote-

"When something bad happens you have three choices. You can let it define you. You can let it destroy you. Or you let it strengthen you"

Yes, although, it is slightly dramatic, it really sums up how I feel right now! I've made the choice. That rather than let this news destroy me I really want to take control of my life and start to organise myself properly. That means regular, good quality blog posts!

So from now on thats what you will be getting. I know I will have the odd hiccup, but I hope for the most part I can stick to this, I know it will be worth it in the end!

  1. Awh, that's a shame! :( I mucked up two of my exams and I'm certain if they'd have been remarked mine would've gone down and I'd have been in your position too! Silly college, hope things work out for you :)xx

  2. I'm sorry for you... I can only hope that it will make you stronger :) Good luck!

  3. I'm so sorry, I know schools tough, I'm in university right now and it's a lot harder this year than last (I'm a sophomore). You might change you mind in what you plan to do with your life. I went in for teaching but changed it to business. It's been so much better for me since.

I also want to say that I came across your blog because of Sandra she's a great blogger I follow and she posted about her guest post. Thank god I found your blog and this quote because well today was a super tough day for me. With nothing going my way, spilled red juice on my rug and my sea green uggs (may they RIP :(( ) and some girl drama. This seriously made me think about how not so bad my day was. So essentially what I'm saying is thanks for the quote.

  4. Ps, I mentioned your blog and this quote on my blog;here's the link here: I hope you don't mind.

  5. @Jenny Thank you xxx
@Ms Bubu Thanks lovely... it really means a lot!
@Beauty on a college budget: So glad I could help, the quote is so important and its really important to tell yourself that
    Thanks for the comments
