In the waves!

Series time? I think so...I thought that I would do a series, looking at the Carmen Hair Multi-styler focusing on a different style each time, lets begin shall we...

As its (supposedly) summer, I thought what better time to try out beach waves! I got the Carmen hair multi-styler for Christmas last year. I already new the price of this product when I got it, £29.99. I wasn't really too sure what to expect from this three is one product for that price but gave it a go none the less. If it worked bargain, if not at least it didn't cost anymore. I don't tend to use the wave plates too often because it does take quite a while to style and with my hair, it lasts about half that time!

Before starting to wave my hair I washed it using TRESemme salon silk shampoo and conditioner, John Frieda Frizz ease and Aussie dual heat protectant.

I then moved on to styling my hair, starting at the bottom and working my way to the top of my head. I held the plates on each part of my hair for around 10 second before moving down to the next part of my hair (You can see why it takes so long). If we fast forward about 50 minutes, below you will see the finished look...

Ok, so I got a bit carried away with a mini photo shoot, but I was quite happy with the out come. Although in these pictures it does look slightly frizzy which was down to my uncontrollable hair I was unluckily born with. This was about an hour after I finished the look and I was heading out to meet some friends. I think for the price these worked really well, I just hope the other two feature are just as good!

Check back to see how the other features performed...

Glossy Box!!

Yoooooo!!
My blog today as you probably guess is about the Glossy Box! I know a lot bloggers did a post about this the exciting day when the Glossy Box arrived. For this month though I decided to try out the products first... kind like a review type thing :)

For anyone who doesn't know, Glossy Box is a monthly subscription service where you receive around five high end productions which are sample sizes (as you can see below only one is sample size! doesn't happen all the time, but is great when it does). The service costs £10 which I think is well worth the money and it comes beautifully packaged too!

I first ordered the Glossy Box as soon as I discovered what came in the May version, by then it had already sold out for June so the July Glossy Box was my first one, and I must admit that when I saw the email saying my order had been dispatched I did do a bit of a dance... you can probably guess my reaction when the box was actually delivered!

Although this was my first Glossy box, I have been keeping tabs on what has been delivered in the past. After the joys of may and the disappointments of June I wasn't sure what to expect. However, the box was brilliant and I don't think I could of been much happier. I admit there are products that I wouldn't normally buy but, isn't that the whole point of the Glossy Box, to try out products that you couldn't/wouldn't normally buy?

I know there were some variations in what came in the box, but here are the goodies that I was lucky enough to receive...

Lip Skin Therapy- Lip rescue gel
Although, I do love to wear lipsticks and glosses I wouldn't say that it is one of my must haves (basically because I don't like my lips! But I was interested to see if this really did plump my lips. The result... it did, slightly?! But I guess some is better than none! What I really loved about this product is the fact that it made by lips really shiny but at the same time they didn't look ultra gloopy and it smelled gorgeousss! Definitely will be using this product.

Ultrasun- SPF30 for face
I haven't really had chance to try this product what with the British weather, though I did try it out to see how it felt on the skin. I must say that this product left my skin feeling soft and didn't feel really think on my skin, would definitely consider buying again!

Illamasqua- Pure pigment

I must admit that this was the product that I was most excited about trying, I'm an eyeshadow girl ;) I don't to wear much purple so to start off with I was a little disappointed about the colour, until I swatched it. It may be hard to tell from the image but the pigment came out like a purple smokey look perfect for a smokey eye. I haven't had a proper chance to try this product but can't wait to :))
Ciate - paint pots
I absolutely love nail polishes, but when I got this I first thought NOOOO! I already have this colour :( Until I went and put it in my nail polish collection and compared it to the other colour... its completely different, its no where near the same! Sorry, enough of my weirdness! The nail polish is a gorgeous colour,  and went on really easily (sorry, forgot to take a picture of it on)! It did chip a bit but would consider buying again.

Weleda pomegranate regenerating body oil
This the the product that I would never consider buying, which why I was more than happy to try this out. First off, if you use this a little goes a long way... I learnt this the hard way! I can not exaggerate this enough... the product smells AMAZING both in the bottle and on my skin. It also left my skin so soft and smooth I am really considering dishing out the £20 for this product again when this hefty bottle runs out!

So what did you get/want in your Glossy box?

2011 LIVE!

Heyyyyyyy.....
I was soo excited to go to 2011 Live this weekend with my friends. For those of you who don't know, its an outdoor concert in Stoke On Trent which is about 40 minutes away from where I live.

I had high hopes for this event and boy did it live up to them! Apart from the fact that we were stood up for 10 hours straight... 4 hours of which it was raining non-stop, it was a great day and I had a really good laugh with some old friends.

Here are some Piccys from the day, sorry if there not the best quality I was just pointing and shooting....
Apologies for looking like a wet dog here in the coolest jacket since the shell suit but it was just after a manic down poor!

No7 Mini Haul

I had saturday off this weekend which is a very rare occurence and my brother had saturday off too... a lucky coinsedence and a rare occurence too!
Anyway, we both decided to head into town to check out the new Boots and TK Maxx that had just opened, I know, what exciting lives we lead. I ended up spending nearly an hour in Boots as it has soo much stuff in there, including a range of makeup counter which is so great because it pretty much a 10 minute drive from my house.

Boots at the moment have a 3 for 2 offer on so I decided to take full advantage and spend some of that money I don't have!

Shine free primer £11.00
Tried this out today and thinks its really good! Made putting on my foundation whole lot easier. would defo suggest the matte finish for the summer months!
Stay perfect eye mouse £9.00
Also tried this today, really nice base to add eye shadow too and can be dressed up or down.

Moisture drench lipstick (waterlilly) £10.00
This really added colour to my lips, but at the same time kept them looking natural... good for an everyday look!

New look, H&M, George Haul

I have been shopping crazy over the past few weeks and spent far to much money that I quite frankly don't have!
I bought this lot a few weeks ago on a trip to the Trafford Centre...

I absolutely love these shoes and they were a bargin at £19.99, as you can see by the picture, they are now a bit scuffed! :( My only regret is that I didn't buy them sooner... Its a time when we should be wearing sandals and flip flops!

So my next item is something that I have been wondering about for a long time. I really liked it but wasn't sure about the material that it was made from...Opps textiles student coming out! Anyway, I decided to buy this in the end and get it in white as I felt that this went well with the gold buttons. It cost £12.99 so hardly breaking the bank! I really like this but it is slightly too short, nothing that can't be cured with a black top underneath though.... Something else to keep me cool in the summer months :/

Moving even further into the summer months is my first EVER maxi dress. Yes, I have caved into the growing trend and I must admit that I love my new dress! It came in at £24.99 which I thought was a very good price. I absolutely love the colour and think that the beads work really well so that there is no need to worry about necklaces... what could be better!

I brought this stuff on the H&M website. I LOVE  IT! I'm so happy I got this stuff and it is soo worth the money.

My first item is a tan bag I saw months ago which was £20.00 I absolutely loved it. However, my brother decided it was time to leave and ended up dragging me out kicking and screaming... and they claim I have a bag addiction! Anyway, I went on to the website last week and they had reduced it to £9.99... BARGIN!

I also spent the pounds on this gorgeous charm bracelet... its really nice and fits perfectly. Which is really good as sometime I get bracelets that literally just fall off your wrist! I also think that its really summer and will go well with a lot of stuff I own!

My next find was in George and I think that these are SOO cute. They were a real deal at £2.50 and I think they are really summer and would be great for any festival-goers! By the way, there were two but I've lost one already :( I hope it turns up!
