Time for Goodbyes...

I have to admit I don't really like New Year, its full of: Next year I'm going to...., Next year is going to be great.., Next Year all my dreams will come true!. Call me pesimistic but I usually find that today will be exactly the same as tomorrow and pretty much the same there after. We may be able to change the way we behaviour or spend our time, but we can't always change  people, the past and the world (no matter how great that would be).

Even though I say this^, I do however (every year) fall into the trap of making New Years resolutions and wishing for all these changes to happen... they never do. Reading a blog post earlier on today inspired me to think about what I have achieved this year even if its not exactly what I had in mind and what I realistically for next year.

Made my EPQ presentation- Although it was only to about 10 people and I have done presentations before, the words *Eye Contact* with strangers seem to scare wayy too much.

Improving my confidence- One lovely lady at my work commented on how much I had grown in confidence only last week. I've noticed it over the last year myself, I'll talk to my teachers more if I'm struggle, don't freeze up when talking to customers quite as much at work and have definitely made a lot more friends due to relaxing and chatting... no to say I've not go a way to go yet.

Really developed my interest in Beauty and Fashion- Very damaging to my bank account but very healthy for my happiness

Started my Beauty Blog- You may not be aware that I actually have a Beauty blog (comedy genius) I must say I am so happy for every subscriber, every person who has read my posts and everyone who has commented!

And for Next Year... what are my achievable goals and ideas for the future

Nail my interview and Get into University
(I have an interview for Southampton Solent Uni)

Get the A level results I will be proud of

Organise my time management between blogging, College work and sitting around personal life

Finally build up the courage to make You Tube videos

Soak up every moment I spend with my family and friends

Increase my confidence (even more)

Lose 5 stone... Yes, 5!
(Dreams can come true?!)

Meet lots of new people

Start selling the creative things that I make

Look back on the year and smile at all the happy times

All the best for next Year

The Unconventional Christmas Image Post

Not the images you would normally expect to see from Christmas really, *Random* would probably be the best word, but that's what my Christmas was, utterly random! I had the best time, don't get me wrong. It was filled with food, laughter and even MORE food. We played the annual game of scrabble where as you may notice my brother spelt Phlegm wrong... not that any of us noticed till the end of the game. My mum gave me the lovely gift of fridge Scrabble (it was a Scrabble packed holiday!) which my brother used to write great things about himself, horrible things about my mum and used whatever words were left to write about me.

I got some fab gifts and it really made me realise how lucky I am to have the life that I do. I am planning a post in the next few weeks of my gifts and how I have spent the past three days.

How was your Christmas?

My Memories Review and GIVEAWAY!

My Memories is the #1 rated scrap booking suite on Amazon and Top Ten Reviews

When I was younger, I loved scrap booking I use to make collages of images all the time just for fun! I was sent an email to try My Memories digital scrap booking software and was a little unsure whether an electronic version would be for me. I decided to give it a go none the less... and boy was I wrong! I think the main advantage for this piece of software is that its all in one place, you can choose a background, add images and leave messages in the space of 10 minutes! Whats more you can choose from a range of themes for free and even purchase a few extras for a surprising low price.

The image above is taken from the My Memories website, its so great to show your friends and family scrap books and share photos. As you can see, you can also add videos and music for electronic forms.... how funkayyy!

This image is taken from the gallery on the My Memories website, its great for sharing tips and ideas! I have created a few myself and 'messed' around with different themes and I must say there are some many different styles and looks that you can try not to mention all the different embellishments on offer.

I must admit that it isn't quite the same not having the paper and different textures in front of you, but I would definitely suggest this for anyone who loves making scrap books. Another point I must mention is the different types of scrap books that you can make, they can be as long or a short as you want and although there is lots of guiding and help throughout what the final piece looks like it up to you.... you can have it your way!

My Memories isn't just a scrapbook either, there are so many extra features that are so interesting. I would highly recommend checking out the website specifically this page if not the whole site.

The cost of the software is $40 (yes, they are an American brand but can be downloaded in the UK and other countries and are still very popular!) which I think is quite reasonable for the huge range that you are getting. To find out more, check out the My Memories You Tube channel.

Powda Wowza Wowza!

I am actually obssessed with getting my hands on this product, its the new Benefits

If you are familiar with the Benefit Christmas sets than your probably aren't as (over) excited as me. This set retails at £19.50 which I think is a real bargin considering you get 2 blushers and a bronzer which would normally cost £23.50 each! This set includes Coralista, a blush I have had my eye on for ages. Bella Bamba, this is probably the blush I know the smallest about but looking at this I can't believe I haven't thought about getting it before. The Bronzer in this set is the well known Hoola Bronzer, this cult favourite is sworn by by so many gurus in the beauty community.
Sadly, with my family being super organised this year (for some reason), they have already brought all their Christmas presents and with the hints going unnoticed I really have no excuse but to buy it myself... right?!

If you checked out my makeup wishlist (Link), you would know that I am currently running a wishlist series. If you didn't guess by the title above, these are the shoes that I have literally dying over!

Leopard Print - Choker Shoes

With the party season coming up and my 18th pretty soon, I can justify making these purchases, right?!

First ever OOTD!

Can you believe I have never done one of these? I am quite body conscious, but after the OOTD #bbloggers chat a few weeks ago, I decided that I was going to make a post no matter what. I personally love OOTD as I love seeing what people are wearing at the moment.

Jumper: Next Outlet
Leggings- Primark ( these are super thin so I have tights on underneath. Great for keeping you warm in the autumn breeze).
Shoes- Dorothy Perkins
Nail Polish- ELF (Fire Coral)
Bracelets- Ebay, Clothes Show and Vintage Store.

As you can see I haven't quite got the act of OOTDs but I promise it is work in progress. I did originally plan to have my head in the photo (No I didn't go to college without it!) but I took SOO many pictures and on nearly all of them I had a pretty gormless expression. I would really appreciate any advice for these pictures as I honesty didn't understand how tricky it would be to get them right!

Hope your having a lovely day!

Bonfire Night!

That time of year when well dress up in our woolly hats and coats to pay £5 to stand in a field and watch some colourful lights burst into the sky... FUN! I must however, admit that I LOVE bonfire night. Just standing with a crowd of people hearing all the oohhhhsh and arrhhhhhhs makes me excited, and this year was not different. I headed down to our local cricket club where they had fireworks, (duh) a bonfire (double duh), live bands and fair. Yt was a great night and the fireworks were spectacular.

How have you been celebrating this bonfire night?

Mini Haulagee

Don't judge me, I went shopping! In my defense I was waiting for the brother to give me a lift home so I didn't have to walk... he however had to stay at work longer than expected, bad for him, good for me! I only lost my money to a few things as, if you knew where I lived, you would know there are actually hardly any shops!

I picked up this little beauty in none other than Bernardo's (see what I mean about shops!) It was only £1.95 so I couldn't resist. As it only takes panoramic shots I can't wait to try it out!. To make it even better it came with this rather fetching case!
I picked up some lovely leaf earrings in M&Co for only a pound, a really bargain. I think these will be great for everyday as there not too over the top. In Boots, I purchased the Natural Collection Body Spray as I've heard so many you tubers talking about how great these our so decided to give them ago. They only had the strawberry or vanilla. I really wished I got vanilla now so going to try and take this back and swap!

Keeping with Boots, I picked up 3 Rimmel London Lip products in their 3 for 2 offer. I've been dying to buy Kate Moss' lipstick in 03 and they finally had it, perfect colour for everyday, similar to the colour Asia which I think is just off a natural shade but still great for everyday. I'm not a huge lip gloss person but really wanted to give this a go, its in the colour 'Be Famous' and I lurveeee the colour of it... definitely making me want more!

What have you been hauling recently?

Special Guest blogger

I was super excited to be attending London Fashion Weekend this year sponsored by Vodafone.
For those of you who don't know what London Fashion Weekend is, it's a great event held in Somerset House that is open to the public with lots of designer pop up shops offering fabulous discounts ranging from 30%-70% off. It was an opportunity for a lovely weekend out with the girls, sipping champagne for breakfast and having velvet cupcakes available to us all day!!!
We purchased the Platinum Lounge tickets which meant we had access to the VIP lounge, free drinks and canapes, reserved front row seats for the catwalk and a half decent goodie bag given to us at the end of the day. We also had an Elizabeth Arden and a Toni and Guy master class which revealed some hints and tips of hot new looks for summer 2012.

What to wear?
It was hard deciding what to wear for the event,  so I kept it stylishly chic and smart.
We were there from 930am so I didn't want to turn up looking glamorous and ridiculous so I mixed up vintage with new and kept things simple.
When you go to a fashion show you don't want to dress up too much because sweetheart, remember, your not the one going down the catwalk and also don't wear high heels! Your going to be on your feet walking around for most of the day shopping so a comfortable height is a must but still NO FLATS!

(chain detail and button detail on vintage jacket)

Skirt from Forever 21 - £12
Black peace sign rosary - Miss Selfridge £10
MAC number 7 lashes £10
Vintage Jacket valued at £170

Catwalk Show
The catwalk show was fun and obviously the highlight of the the event, reserved front row seats which naturally was exciting because we got to see all the detail of the clothes and models close up and personal.
Sheree and Liz didn't stay for the whole show and snuck out halfway through when the room went dark lol, not out of bordem, oh no no no, my beauty addicts had a make-up session booked with the Elizabeth Arden ladies which they didn't want to miss so me and Abi stayed. I think Sheree had a bad feeling after she had her make-up done, I mean jeez! she had an affair behind MAC's back! (quote) I don't think the ladies at EA has made her a convert yet so MAC Sheree is sorry!
Anyway, it was nice to see some of the current Autumn/Winter collections from designers like Jeager and some of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections from up and coming and established designers.

Purchases made

Now before you all think I'm cray, I didnt just go for any Elizaeth Arden product. As we had the Platinum tickets, we were lucky enough to have a Master Class, and after the class an E.A beauty expert came round to our area and did a skin test with a small device that was truly amazing.

She told me my skin was very dehydrated and not very firm. She suggested or 'SOLD' me, some products that suited my skins needs and so far it seems to be working.
Im doing an Elizabeth Arden product testing week next week so keep a look out for some more info on all these products.

So overall I only spent £52 on some Elizabeth Arden products and got a cool goodie bag for free packed full of extra treats!
It included the EA Bronzer, 8 hour lip balm stick, 8 hour hand cream, intervene 3 in 1 daily cleanser and exfoliator primer, radiance serum and a small bottle of perfume OH and a black bag! AND BREATH!

(to put mine and my husbands pic inside :) cheesy)

 Love this clutch bag!
  Even RhiRhi's got one

Chambords Goodie Bag

Next week as I mentioned above, I'll be reviewing some of the Elizabeth Arden products and some of the products that were in my goodie bag and discussing some of the tips for next year told by the beauty experts themselves, so come back next week an check it out!
See you soon guy!

1. What inspired you, or made you want to start your own blog? - Ive been on the vlogging scene for years and have been performing for more and have real dedicated watchers/readers on and facebook and youtube so communicating with  people with other tools using social networking sites has always been an interest of mine and promoting my music is probably how it started. But just before i got married in May i started writing things instead of filming and i thought i might as well give it a go so created my blog. Besides, i dont always carry my video camera everywhere but i always carry my phone meaning i can take more pics.
2. What are your top 5 favourite blogs that you enjoy reading? o m g - i read so many blogs i cant say which ones are top :( it wont be fair to some people sorry cant answer that question. But i do like new bloggers, they generally tend to interact more with other bloggers and arnt on such a high f////ing horse! I get really annoyed with them so i don't bother with reading anything they have to say, generally the things they talk about are stuff theyve been sent were-as some blogs i read are people who buy things with their hard earned cash! and have real opinions and talk about less commercial products which i prefer. You can tell who they are too - they all get sent the same stuff, its funny one week I came across 3 blogs that all wrote about the new sleek eyeshadow. I just laughed.
3. Tell us a little about your life away from blogging?
Well im a newly wed its been 5 months now but me and my husband (its weird not saying boyfriend) have been together for 5 years now.
Im also a singer and songwriter went to the same school as Wretch 32 and Chipmunk and
my best mate and producer also produced tracks for both of them - lil secret for ya lol and there is a road named after my family in Trinidad.
I love shopping and buying unique bits of clothing. Half my wardrobe is vintage.
4. Any tips for future bloggers?

Say what you have to say without worrying about people reading your blog. If they like it they will follow you if not who gives a crap. Dont worry about having a big fan base just focus on what you have to say and enjoy what you write about. Dont let it become a job.

14 Ways to Brighten Up Your Room

Lately, I have been slowly, but surely giving my room a bit of a 'revamp'. Whilst doing this, I have come across a few techniques that are sure to brighten up your room, but also they are very cost effective, which is always a great added bonus!

Nothing makes a room prettier, then a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. Of course nothing beats the real thing, but it can become expensive when you constantly need to re-purchase them or you could easily forget to water your plant, which also isn't good! So it is far easier to spend a couple of pounds on some quite realistic looking flowers that are no trouble to maintain! The flowers in the bottom picture were heavier than the vase itself, so I simply poured in bath salts into the vase to weigh it down, and it was fine! If you are looking for a vase, there is no shortage of low costing ones in charity shops, supermarkets and at car boot sales.

Get Organised!
Clutter never looks good in a room, so not only will these storage systems tidy up your room, but also make it easier to find things. In the cupcake jar, I like to keep my Lush soaps, in the cat, I place loose coins, in the flowery box there are my hairbands and in the small cork box, bobby pins and hair clips. It makes life just that little bit easier! The icing on the cake is that each one is adorable and would look very pretty on a dresser. The two boxes come in dazzling patterns and inside them, you can store what you wish- CDs, makeup, pens and the list goes on. And of course, you can find these sort of storage solutions at low low prices!

Put your prettiest products on display!

Beauty companies very often encase their products in beautiful packaging, and they certainly shouldn't be hidden in a closet! So put them on display! Especially, I love to put my perfume bottles out! Alternatively, it is a nice idea to put your nail polishes on show, to povide a hint of colour; I like to put mine in rainbow order, so it makes everything easier to find. Now I can't go without mentioning jewellery. It is undeniably dazzling to look at and would look perfect on display, either draped over something or in a pretty bowl.

Photos, Magazine Cuttings and Collages
My old wardrobe looked a bit dismal to say the least, so to spruce things up, I flicked through my Teen Vogue magazines and cut out my favourite images- creative adverts I liked, fun images or outfits that I adored. I also chucked in some snaps I took when I went to France, my Paris pics especially and some images of me and my friends (my friends aren't Ashley Tisdale and Florence from Florence & the Machine!). I just used a bit of Blu-tak, et voila! I really loved the end result and it cost peanuts to do. You can really create some fantastic pieces of artwork. Alternatively, you can pin some pictures to a cork board, or of course put your favourite photos into some pretty frames.

5. Showcase your Books and Magazines

On the cover of magazines are some stunning shots, they always have a dash of colour and the glossy front covers will look ravishing in your room. And of course, I can't go without saying the classic, cosy vibe that can be given to your room when you have some books lying around! They look especially nice on bookshelves, mantle pieces, window sells, desks, and table tops. You can also find cute book holding accessories as a little bonus to your room!

6. Accessorize!
It goes without saying that accessories scattered around your room will make it more lively. In my room some little items I have are precious stones, a Russian doll, little animals, but you could also have candles, mini statues, bird cages- the list goes on. There are countless shops that stock these things for very affordable prices.

7. Cushions
So this idea is no secret, but it doesn't mean it's any less effective. Cushions are a way to add in different textures and colours into your room in a subtle way.

8. Make your room smell nice!

It's not necessary, but it always makes the room more pleasant to have it smelling nice. Ways to do this are to have your bathbombs out (I love my Lush ones), you can have a bowl of pot purri (sorry if I didn't spell that correctly), scented candles are scrumptious, room spray is also quite effective, and finally flowers!

9. Spruce up your wallls!
When your walls are looking a bit dull and plain, then a bit of artwork can do wonders. The downside however is that it can be quite expensive, but I have a solution! In places such as Paperchase, for about £2, you can buy A2 sheets of quite thick wrapping paper in beautiful prints. Add a bit of Blu-tak and you have yourself a lovely looking wall. You can also use the free wallpaper samples you get in stores such as B&Q and Homebase. You could just cut them to size and stick them to your wall, or wrap them around a plain canvas or pop them in a frame. Simple!

10. Decorate handles
This is a nice little idea when door knobs on doors, draws and cupboards a looking a bit plain. All you have to do it tie a bit of ribbon around them and put it in a bow! As an extra little feature, thread on some beads onto your piece of ribbon just to add a bit of glam.

11. Clocks!
Plain plastic alarm clocks aren't always pleasant to the eye, so there is no harm in getting a nicer looking clock that will look a lot better in your room!

12. Door Hooks
Little plactic hooks on your door aren't exactly attractive, but luckily there are plenty available in gorgeous designs with even more hooks so that you can hang whatever you desire. I got my one in the picture for a bargain £5!

13. Table Cloths
When your table is tarnished and looking a bit battered, then there is no need to buy a new table; just get a pretty table cloth. Problem solved, and they're not too pricey!

14. Display bowls
To stop so much clutter filling up your room, one thing I love to put stuff in are these pretty bowls. For a couple of pounds, you can easily find these in charity shops and at car boot sales. They're stylish, cheap and neaten things up- what more could you want?

Anyway, I hope this was useful!

Lots of Love,

Isabella x

1. What has inspired you, or made you want to start your own blog?

The first time I discovered the internet beauty/fashion community, was on You Tube, and instantly, I was hooked. I never realised there was a place where there were other people who shared the same interests. My friends do take an interest with this kind of thing, but were nowhere near as obssessed as I was! It was so fantastic to have a place where I could learn tips, see very helpful reviews, receive so much inspiration and find out what out what is available in the shops. However, the whole time I read blogs, or watched You Tube videos, I always felt there was something that I could contribute; therefore, I decided to start my blog. I also saw it as a good oppurtunity to improve my writing skills!
2. My top five favourite blogs to read are (in no paticular order)-
1. Fleur De Force
2. DollyBowBow
3. Makeup Savvy
4. The Chriselle Factor
5. Zoella
3. I don't think there is anything paticualarly fascinating about my life away from blogging! But to be honest, I quite enjoy the simple things! I'm mostly at school, so a lot of my days are filled with homework and revision, but aside from that, I watch quite a lot of TV (I love to watch American sitcoms, Doctor Who, Gossip Girl, Glee, Neighbours and the Simpsons!), I also really enjoy shopping, watching videos on You Tube, spending time with friends, reading Harry Potter; I'm pretty lazy really!
4. For future bloggers, my best tips are:
1. Write about what is interesting to you- by staying true to who you are, that will set aside your blog to the rest and keep it original!
2. Try to always ensure that your grammar and spelling is correct, otherwise, it makes your blog tricky to read.
3. Expand your vocabulary. Using interesting adjectives, can make an enormous difference!
4. Try to use your own photographs, because it makes things feel more personal, and welcoming.
5. Every now and again, try to squeeze in some posts about how you are doing, or things that have been happening in your daily life, because these posts are often relatable to the reader, and they like to hear about it.
6. Try to use the correct terminology, as this will give the reader more confidence that you know what you're talking about!
7. Always try and leave comments on other people's blogs, because it makes their day, and is a way to get noticed. Whenever people have taken the time to rread one of my posts, I always try to repay the favour and check their blog out too!
8. Make sure you respond to comments! I would recommend leaving a comment on that persons blog, because otherwise, they may not know you have replied back.
